I was sent an email joke, Friends and Greek friends. I was reading it and thought, what about Geek friends? Well, I did a bit of typing and here’s the result, let me know what you think!
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR NORMAL FRIENDS, A GREEK FRIEND, AND A GEEK FRIEND!!!
FRIENDS: Never ask for food
GREEK FRIENDS: Are the reason you have no food.
GEEK FRIENDS: Will reduce you to a diet of microwave noodles, chinese food, coffee and pizza.
FRIENDS: Will say “hello”
GREEK FRIENDS: Will give you a big hug and a kiss.
GEEK FRIENDS: Will IM you to say 43110. (non-geek: Will IM you to say Hello.)
FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr. and Mrs.
GREEK FRIENDS: Call your parents Theo and Thea (auntie and uncle)
GEEK FRIENDS: Consider your parents to be those primitive people who can’t use a keyboard.
FRIENDS: Have never seen you cry.
GREEK FRIENDS: Cry with you.
GEEK FRIENDS: Will fire up a webcam session and watch you cry via remote.
FRIENDS: Will eat at your dinner table and leave
GREEK FRIENDS: Will spend hours there, talking, laughing and just being together
GEEK FRIENDS: Will spend hours hunched over a keyboard eating while they type to you in MSN Messenger.
FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back.
GREEK FRIENDS: Keep your stuff so long they forget it’s yours.
GEEK FRIENDS: Download your stuff off Bittorrent.
FRIENDS: know a few things about you.
GREEK FRIENDS: Could write a book with direct quotes from you.
GEEK FRIENDS: Have bookmarked the links to your MySpace page and blog.
FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that’s what the crowd is doing.
GREEK FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowds’ ass that left you.
GEEK FRIENDS: Will criticise the crowd on forums and their blog, unless the crowd has way cooler gadgets.
FRIENDS: Would knock on your door.
GREEK FRIENDS: Walk right in and say, “I’m home!”
GEEK FRIENDS: Will send you an IM and then read Slashdot till you get back to your PC.
FRIENDS: Are for a while.
GREEK FRIENDS: Are for life!
GEEK FRIENDS: Are always there on Instant Messenger.
FRIENDS: Go out for a drink with you out.
GREEK FRIENDS: Are the reason your liver is sitting next to you having a coffee saying “You’re an asshole!”
GEEK FRIENDS: Get drunk while talking with you on MSN Messenger

That is truly funny, I enjoyed this! Are you using WordPress.org now? Just wondering, as i was setting up my self-hosted site with them I found myself facing a big techie learning curve and kept saying, “it’s all geek to me!”

Glad you enjoyed it! Currently I’m still on WordPress.com, though once I finish getting some hosting setup I’ll be pointing my domain to a new site using the download version of WordPress from wordpress.org.
I hope to gain some flexibility, and and get Sitquietly hosted in the same place as the rest of the site.
